- • Understanding the statutory role and legal responsibilities of a workplace first aider
- • Minimizing risk of cross-infection and using personal protective equipment (PPE)
- • Accident reporting, documentation (RIDDOR), and managing consent
- • First aid box contents and emergency checklist management
- • Scene safety and the DRABC primary survey assessment protocol
- • Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) techniques on adult manikins
- • Safe, confident deployment and voice-prompt operation of an Automated External Defibrillator (AED)
- • Placing an unresponsive breathing casualty safely into the recovery position
- • Recognizing and assisting a choking adult casualty (back blows and abdominal thrusts)
- • Identifying and managing respiratory distress and seizures
- • Recognizing the early warning signs of cardiac events and heart attacks
- • Immediate treatment of clinical shock and fainting
- • Controlling external catastrophic and severe bleeding with direct pressure and dressings
- • Treatment of minor cuts, grazes, bruises, and small splinters
- • Managing minor burns, scalds, and thermal injuries
- • Post-incident handover to the Emergency Medical Services (EMS)

Continuous practical observation by our certified instructor throughout the day, alongside a brief multiple-choice validation assessment.

Entry Requirements & Prerequisites
No prior first aid experience is required. Candidates must be physically capable of performing CPR on floor-level manikins.
